LAW

Marc Clerc, owner and founder of the law firm Clerc & Associates, South Easton, Mass., has been admitted to the New Hampshire Bar and is now licensed to practice law in New Hampshire. His firm specializes in business law, specifically the purchase and sale of businesses and commercial real estate, choice of entity decisions, commercial leases, partnership agreements and general contracts. He plans to expand his law practice to the North Conway area.

ARCHITECTURE

Roswell, Ga.-based Randall-Paulson Architects is opening a new office in Nashua, NH, its first in New England. The firm, which provides architectural, interior design and visualization services to clients in a range of industries, including industrial, healthcare and retail. Tim Engelbert, who has worked for Randall-Paulson for 11 years, will head the new office, which is located at 82 Technology Way, Suite 3W2A, in Millyard Technology Park, Nashua.

HEALTHCARE

The Dartmouth-Hitchcock Aging Resource Center has received a sponsorship from the health insurance provider Cigna for a program to support the well-being of unpaid caregivers. The Self-Care Sampler for Family Care Partners virtual program is led by Ellen Flaherty, vice president of the Geriatric Center of Excellence at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Health. It offers instruction, discussion and activities in various areas of self-care, including mindfulness, mindful drawing, finding strength and balance through movement, reflecting on experiences and caregiver health prevention and promotion.

The New Hampshire Public Health Association has named Melissa Bernardin as its new advocacy and program coordinator. In addition, the association has named Ellen Smith Ahern as its new immunization program coordinator.

Jazmine Jade, owner of True Blue Wellness, Manchester, has become one of three techniques-certified craniosacral therapists in New Hampshire. The recognition is given by the Upledger institute to practitioners who have practiced the therapy and completed an extensive exam process.

Dartmouth-Hitchcock Data Analytics Vice President Elizabeth A. Stedina has been recognized as one of 22 women healthcare leaders in the Carol Emmott Fellowship Class of 2022. The fellowship brings attention to the underrepresentation of women in the highest levels of healthcare leadership. It involves a 14-month program for women leaders who are committed to driving meaningful change and advocating for equity in all aspects of work and life.

RiverMead, a continuing care retirement community in Peterborough, recently announced a wage increase for all hourly employees. Under the change, starting wages for employees making less than $20 an hour were increased from between 5 percent to 23 percent, depending on the position.

EDUCATION

Rivier University’s 36-credit online MBA in healthcare administration has earned a ranking in the top 10 of U.S. programs in EduMed’s 2021 rankings. EduMed said it researched more than 7,700 accredited institutions using data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System and from the colleges and universities, and 8 percent of the institutions earned a ranking.

NONPROFITS

Members First Credit Union was the presenting sponsor for the Manchester Police Athletic League Ball. The event helps MPAL raise money to continue its work with young people in the community with afterschool athletic, educational and enrichment programs.

The Capital Region Food Program, Concord, distributed 346 cases of nonperishable food items to 18 area social service agencies, food pantries and churches as part of its Year-Round Distribution Project in November. The Newburyport Bank Charitable Foundation has donated $5,000 to Ink 4 Pink, a New Hampshire independent nonprofit that supports breast cancer survivors.

The American Land Title Association’s Good Deeds Foundation has awarded $6,000 to Neighbor-Works Southern New Hampshire in Manchester. First American Title Insurance Company in Concord nominated the organization for the funding because of the organization’s efforts to provide access to quality housing services and revitalize neighborhoods.

TD Bank’s TD Charitable Foundation has awarded $40,000 to the New Hampshire Business Committee for the Arts to further develop its augmented reality art app, AR+ art. The grant will also fund exhibitions in collaboration with colleges, including Southern New Hampshire University, the Institute of Art and Design at New England College and University of New Hampshire.

The NH Center for Nonprofits is seeking applications for the next cohort of the Hoffman-Haas Fellowship. Designed to prepare and inspire participants to effectively serve on nonprofit boards, the fellowship will take place from March to June 2022. Hoffman-Haas Fellows are individuals with a strong desire to be effective community leaders by applying their leadership, management and strategic problem-solving skills to nonprofit board service. The New Hampshire Senior Leadership Series is now taking applications for the 2022 class. A collaboration of AARP NH, the Center on Aging and Community Living at the University of New Hampshire and Dartmouth Centers for Health and Aging, the program is designed for older adults, caregivers and family members who want to advocate for older adults in New Hampshire. Participants meet five times over an eight-month period, April through November, and receive training on a variety of educational and community topics. Application deadline is Feb. 11. The Portsmouth-based kinship care nonprofit Step Up Parents has received a $5,000 grant from the Oleonda Jameson Trust, which supports programs that provide assistance to impoverished families and individuals. Step Up Parents provides financial and material support to kinship caregivers raising children whose parents struggle with substance use disorder.

Cheryl Giannasca of Rumney has joined New Hampshire Mutual Bancorp, Concord, as senior vice president and human resources officer. Giannasca has more than 25 years of human resources experience and before joining NHMB recently led the human resources team at Simpson Gumpertz & Heger, a national civil and structural engineering consulting firm.

Franklin Savings Bank has announced the promotions of Andrew Cirrone to southern New Hampshire market manager and David L’Heureux to regional branch supervisor in the retail division. Cirrone will assume responsibility for deposit growth and overall performance of the bank’s Merrimack and Goffstown offices. L’Heureux will have oversight of the daily operations and support for the bank’s retail teams at the Goffstown and Merrimack offices.

Sherry L. Temple-Pruyn of North Hampton has been promoted to assistant vice president, mortgage officer and originator, at Haverhill Bank. Temple-Pruyn began her career at the bank in 2014 and manages its West Newbury, Mass., office and is a mortgage officer and originator.

Optisure Risk Partners, Manchester, has announced that Nicole Krause has joined the organization as an aviation account manager. A resident of Orange County in California, Krause has a decade of aviation insurance experience and a background as a commercial lines account manager.

Travel Weekly has awarded Global Rescue of Lebanon, a provider of medical, security, evacuation and travel risk management services, two 2021 Gold Magellan Awards for its travel services. Global Rescue earned a gold award for its “Beyond The Road: Powered By Global Rescue for AAA” promotional video in the Online Travel Services Marketing category and a second gold award for its “Pandemic Blog” series in the Online Travel Services — Overall Blog category.

ENGINEERING

James Wheeler has joined the Lancaster staff of Sansoucy Associates. A registered civil engineer in New Hampshire and Maine, Wheeler has for the last eight years been city manager of Berlin and before that was vice president of strategic management and human resources at Androscoggin Valley Hospital, Berlin.

REAL ESTATE

The sale of 637 W. Main St. in Tilton, a 6.75-acre parcel with a newly built self-storage facility, has been sold to Tilton Self Storage LLC for $4.28 million, according to Matthew Bacon and Cassandra Farley of SVN Masiello Commercial, who represented the seller, 637 West Main St. LLC. The buyer was represented by Doug Martin of KW Commercial. The facility consists of 11 buildings and an office with a total of 67,050 square feet of rentable storage square footage.

Mountain Valley Mall in Conway has been sold for about $26.5 million. The mall includes a Hannaford and a Lowe’s as well as the Mountain Valley Cinema 7, Mystery NH Escape Room and the Premier Home Store. A Delaware LLC owned by RPT Realty of New York City — owner of 57 open-air shopping centers around the country — acquired the property from KGI Properties of Providence, R.I., which acquired the mall in 2005. Mountain Valley Mall opened in 1980.

The 10,000-squarefoot building at 1069 S. Mammoth Rd. in Manchester has been sold for $1.4 million. Matthew Bacon and Cassandra Farley of SVN Masiello Commercial represented the seller, 14 SMR LLC. The buyer, Lynch Real Estate Holdings, was represented by Mike Reed of Stebbins Commercial Properties.

MANUFACTURING

A new fabric from NEMO, the Doverbased designer of outdoor gear and accessories, has been named one of the greatest innovations of 2021 by Popular Science magazine. NEMO said the OSMO fabric is a leap forward, both in technical performance and environmental sustainability because it uses 100 percent recycled yarns, without the use of harmful flameretardant chemicals or fluorinated water repellents. The fabric will be used in 2022 in two of the brand’s tents, Dagger and Hornet Elite.

NEMO said it intends to integrate the fabric into additional tents in 2023 and beyond.

GOVERNMENT

The New Hampshire Business Finance Authority has announced the winners of its 2021 Granite State Awards, honoring lenders for their exceptional work helping Granite State companies access the funds they need to grow their businesses. Award recipients were Frank Teas of Millyard Bank for Loan Guarantee of the Year; Deb Tessier, Bank of New, Hampshire as Capital Access Program Lender of the Year; David Weed of Service Federal Credit Union for the Bond Deal of the year with the Sig Sauer expansion in Rochester; Peter Rayno of Enterprise Bank for the veteranowned business loan of the year; and Ron Magoon of Franklin Savings Bank received the Community Impact Award for his work in revitalizing downtown
